Welcome
Welcome to Lamoille Valley Farm and Forest School, where the magic of the outdoors becomes our classroom! We believe in the power of nature to inspire, engage and teach children of all ages. Our program encourages children to explore and learn about the natural world around them, fostering a deep connection to the environment and promoting a sense of responsibility and stewardship. From building forts and climbing trees to identifying plants and wildlife, carving and baking. There's always something new and exciting to discover!

A Day in the Life at LVFFS
Mornings at LVFFS start with time outside. We feel it’s important to allow the students the freedom to explore, connect with peers, and engage in self-led activities. Following this free time, students and teachers will hold a community meeting, where the group goes over the daily rhythm, activities and goals.
After our community meeting, students and teachers work collaboratively on their first academic block. Academic blocks include English language arts, social studies, math, land stewardship, Science, projects and art. Throughout the day, students are given opportunities to connect with nature through nature walks, “sit spots,” seasonal activities, gardening and botanical studies. Students are encouraged to take the lead during these opportunities in nature to ask questions and share observations.
Lunch is often shared outdoors, followed by another period of free play and two more academic block. We end the day with students and teachers coming together for a closing circle before parents arrive.
